November 26, 2020: Refunds regarding Covid-19 shutdowns – As we start to cancel weeks of the season, the question of refunds is understandably starting to surface from numerous members. Although the board has been reviewing what the program refunds would look like, there are still a lot of unknowns, and as a whole we are unsure of what the future operations for the year will be like, including if there is a potential for any extension of the season.

With significant program reduction, the CRAA will make every effort possible to provide appropriate refunds - and it has prompted an approved reduction in team allocated fees that would have been used for tournaments, etc.  All U15, U16, and U18 TeamSnap accounts have been adjusted to reflect this change immediately. For those that had paid the full fee (in those age divisions), you will be receiving a refund of those adjusted amounts shortly.

At this time we are unsure of overall effect of the shutdown, and all other potential refunds will be reviewed in the new year. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

*Please note that these fees include socks, hockey pants and one set of dry land gear (no names or numbers) only.  Fees do not reflect additional costs for required helmets, gloves, jackets or apparel purchased separately through an approved supplier.  New players can obtain helmet, gloves and hockey bags through Play it Again Sports in Westhills. Apparel links for RM Apparel are provided once teams are created.

CRAA fees also include what would have been previously been referred to as a "cash call" and is now called a team allocated amount.  The amount posted is an "all in" fee to cover programming and tournaments should we be allowed to participate in any this season.

Financial Assistance Information

Flames Even Strength Program (FESP)

The Calgary Royals will match the financial assistance given by the Flames Even Strength program.

Hockey Calgary, KidSport, the Flames Foundation & Canadian Pacific support the Flames Even Strength Program (FESP).  This initiative helps to alleviate the cost of playing hockey for children in our community facing financial barriers to participating in organized sports.  Since 1998, the program has distributed over $2,000,000 in support of local minor hockey players so they can play the game they love.

Calgary Royals Athletic Association Assistance Program

The Calgary Royals Athletic Association will match the funding $ granted from the Flames Even Strength Program  up to the maximum of a player's team registration fee and each situation will be assessed and handled privately with the family.
